Extend a Furnished Rental in Louisville: How HobKnob Flexibility Works

Quick answer: HobKnob residents can extend a furnished rental in Louisville, KY or Southern Indiana one month at a time, because every stay runs on a 30-day minimum stay with a month-to-month lease after that — extend or give notice anytime, no year-long lease. Private rooms start at around $749 per month at our Burnett Gentlemen Home in Louisville, KY, and pricing can change with availability. One monthly payment covers rent, all utilities, and high-speed WiFi.

It usually starts with a text message. A travel nurse four days out from the end of a 13-week contract hears that the hospital wants her for another eight weeks, and her first thought is not about the job. It is about where she is going to live.

That is the moment most people find out what their lease actually says.

What It Means to Extend a Furnished Rental in Louisville

When residents ask how to extend a furnished rental in Louisville, they are usually braced for paperwork — a new lease, a new deposit, another application fee.

At HobKnob, extending mostly means telling us you are staying. After the first 30 days your lease is already month to month, so there is nothing to re-sign and no second $75 application fee.

Your rate holds for the month you are in. Pricing on a specific room or unit can change with availability over time, so if you are thinking about a long stay, it is worth asking us where things stand.

The 30-Day Minimum, and What Comes After It

Every HobKnob stay starts with a 30-day minimum. After that it is month to month with no maximum, and you can extend or give notice anytime without a penalty for leaving.

Both halves of that matter. The 30 days is the shortest stay we offer. The month-to-month part is what keeps you out of a year-long lease you never needed in the first place.

That flexibility is most of the reason mid-term rentals exist. The plan someone arrives with and the plan they leave with are rarely the same one.

Transferring to a Different Home or Room

Plans change in more directions than just longer. Sometimes a resident wants a bigger room, a quieter street, or a place closer to a job site on the other side of the river.

If that is you, ask. We manage private rooms in our Ladies Homes and Gentlemen Homes across Louisville, KY and Southern Indiana, plus private furnished apartments, and we will tell you straight what is open. Any move depends on what is actually available at the time, so the earlier you raise it, the more options you tend to have.

When a Move Is Worth Asking About

A few situations where residents commonly bring this up:

  • A contract extension that comes with a longer commute across town or across the river

  • A partner or family member joining the stay, which usually means moving from a private room into a private apartment

  • Wanting more square footage — at The Preston in Old Louisville, rooms run from 12x13 up to 26x16

  • A shift from Southern Indiana into Louisville, KY, or the other way around

  • A change in budget, in either direction

One Payment, However Long You Stay

Whether you are here for one month or fourteen, the billing works the same way. One monthly payment covers rent, all utilities, and high-speed WiFi, and in our co-living homes the common areas are cleaned every other week.

Private rooms start at around $749 per month at our Burnett Gentlemen Home in Louisville, KY, and private rooms across our Louisville and Southern Indiana homes generally run from about $749 to $1,099 per month. Private furnished apartments start at around $1,699 per month company-wide. Pricing can change with availability.

Common areas in our co-living homes, like The Preston in Old Louisville, are cleaned every other week.

Start the Conversation Early

The easiest extension is the one we hear about a couple of weeks ahead. That gives us time to keep your room off the availability calendar instead of listing it, and it gives you time to look at other options if you want them.

Jesey handles resident messages for us, and she would much rather hear "I think I am staying" three weeks out than a firm answer three days out. Same with a transfer request — a heads-up costs you nothing and opens up more of what is available.

If you are already living with us and thinking about extending or moving, send us a message or call (502) 625-6670 and we will walk through what is open. If you are still looking, you can browse our private rooms in Louisville and Southern Indiana, look at our furnished apartments, or schedule a tour. HobKnob is locally owned and managed, so the person you talk to about your stay is the same person who can actually do something about it.
