Co-Living Private Room Louisville: Ladies & Gentlemen Homes
Quick answer: HobKnob rents fully furnished co-living private rooms in Louisville, KY and Southern Indiana, and every house is designated as either a Ladies Home or a Gentlemen Home. Rooms start at around $749 per month at our Burnett Gentlemen Home in Louisville, pricing can change with availability, and one monthly payment covers rent, all utilities, and high-speed WiFi. There is a 30-day minimum stay and the lease is month-to-month after that — extend or give notice anytime, no year-long lease.
The first question I get on the phone about a room is almost never about the furniture. It is some version of, so who else lives there?
That is a fair thing to want to know. You are renting a private bedroom in a house with other adults in it, and the people matter as much as the paint colors.
Here is how we have structured it.
What a Co-Living Private Room in Louisville Actually Is
A co-living private room in Louisville, through HobKnob, is your own furnished bedroom inside a house you share with other residents. The bedroom is yours alone, single occupancy, with a bed, a dresser, blackout curtains, and a dedicated workspace.
What you share are the common spaces. Kitchens, living areas, bathrooms, and laundry. At our Burnett home in Louisville, KY that means 12 private bedrooms in a house with 5 bathrooms, 3 separate living areas, and 2 full kitchens, so the shared parts of the house are not all funneling through one sink.
It is not a hotel, and it is not a year-long apartment lease. It sits in the middle, which is the whole point of a mid-term rental.
Ladies Homes and Gentlemen Homes: How HobKnob Organizes the Houses
Every HobKnob co-living house carries one designation. It is either a Ladies Home or a Gentlemen Home, and that designation applies to the entire property.
We organize it this way because shared bathrooms, shared kitchens, and shared laundry tend to run more smoothly when a house is set up around one designation from day one. It keeps the common areas predictable, and predictable common areas are most of what makes a shared house comfortable.
The designation is listed on each home's own page and on our availability list, so you can see which house is which before you ever call us. You can filter the co-living private rooms in Louisville and Southern Indiana by home type and by city to see what is open.
Where the Homes Are
We run co-living homes on both sides of the river, in Louisville and across Southern Indiana. As of today, here is the lay of the land.
Gentlemen Homes: Burnett in Louisville, KY; Spring and Julian in New Albany, IN; Utica in Jeffersonville, IN.
Ladies Homes: Brook, Preston and Mellwood in Louisville, KY; Riverview in Jeffersonville, IN; Falls in Clarksville, IN.
Private rooms company-wide currently run about $749 to $1,099 per month across our Louisville, KY and Southern Indiana homes, and pricing can change with availability.
In Southern Indiana specifically, rooms start at around $749 per month at our Julian Gentlemen Home in New Albany, IN.
Every room is single occupancy and fully furnished, and all of our co-living homes are no-pet homes.
Openings move around week to week, so the availability page is more current than any blog post, including this one.
What the One Monthly Payment Covers
Rent, all utilities, and high-speed WiFi come in a single monthly payment. There is no electric account to open, no separate internet bill, and no utility accounts to set up in your name.
Laundry on site is free to use. Common areas are cleaned by our team on a bi-weekly schedule, meaning once every two weeks, and shared essentials like paper towels and toilet paper are stocked for residents. Linens are not included, so bring your own sheets and towels.
The application fee is $75. For questions about deposits, background checks, or income requirements, call our office at (502) 625-6670 and a real person here will walk you through it.
How Long You Can Stay
The minimum stay is 30 days. After that the lease is month-to-month with no maximum, so you can extend month by month or give notice when your plans change, with no penalty for leaving once that first month is up.
That setup is why so many of our residents are travel nurses, contract professionals, grad students, and people relocating into the area. A 13-week assignment does not fit a 12-month lease, and four months in a hotel adds up fast.
If a room works out and a different home later fits your plans better, residents can ask our office about transferring between homes rather than starting over somewhere new.
How to See a Home in Person
Photos only get you so far. Walking a house tells you in about four minutes whether you could live there.
You can schedule a tour and our team will reach out to set it up, or start an application online if you already know what you want.
Co-living is not for everybody, and that is fine. But if you want your own furnished room, one bill instead of six, and the freedom to give notice after a month, it is worth a look. Call our office at (502) 625-6670 or see what is open at stayhobknob.com.
